The European Commission is looking for temporary Irish-language translators in Meath, Grange, Ireland
The EU institutions cover a broad range of policy areas that include providing development aid and fighting climate change, preventing organised crime and ensuring the rights of minorities, as well as promoting research and innovation and supporting regional development. Translators are at the core of these activities translating texts in the EU's 24 official languages and thereby strengthening communication and helping citizens understand the role of the EU in their everyday lives. Translators work with complex political, legal, economic, financial, scientific and technical texts covering all topics of the European Union.
Currently, the European Commission is seeking Irish-language translators (grade AD 5).The recruited translators will translate documents from English to Irish.
Successful candidates may be offered a temporary contract for four years, which may be renewed for a maximum period of two years. If you are successful, you will be based in the Commission premises in Ireland (Grange, Co Meath) or Brussels.
Suitable candidates must be EU citizens and have a perfect knowledge of Irish and a thorough knowledge of English. Additionally, they need a university degree of at least three years of studies in any discipline.
